Is Green Wall Coffee wheelchair accessible?
No. There are three steps at the entrance and the toilet is not accessible. With a wheelchair or walker the interior cannot be reached without assistance. The eight outdoor seats are at street level.
The entrance
Three steps lead into the café. There is no ramp and no second, step-free entrance. For wheelchair users that means the interior cannot be reached unaided. With a walker, or after an injury, the climb is also difficult.
The toilet
The toilet in the café is not accessible. It is neither reachable without steps nor designed for wheelchairs.
What does work
The eight outdoor seats on the bench in front of the café are at street level on the pavement. They are covered by an awning and usable all year round. Normally everyone orders and collects at the counter themselves — if you cannot, say so and we will bring the coffee out.
Why we write this openly
A café that conceals its barriers only postpones the problem to the moment someone is standing at the door. So here it is as it is: Green Wall Coffee at Sophienstraße 27 in Berlin-Lichtenberg is not accessible, and in the existing building we cannot change that in the short term.
