What food does Green Wall Coffee serve?
No classic breakfast, but a small selection of baked goods: croissants (plain, raspberry, chocolate), cookies, madeleines, brownies, flapjacks and pastéis de nata. According to the manufacturer, the three croissants are vegan.
What is in the display case
The selection is deliberately small. There are croissants — usually plain, raspberry and chocolate — cookies, madeleines, brownies and flapjacks.
The most popular by some distance are the pastéis de nata, the Portuguese puff pastry tarts with vanilla custard. On most days they are the first thing to go.
Why there is no breakfast
Green Wall Coffee is a specialty coffee café, not a breakfast spot. There are no scrambled eggs, no bowls, no sandwiches. The coffee is the point; the baked goods accompany it — chosen with care, but not intended as a menu of their own.
So if you arrive planning a long breakfast, you are better served elsewhere. If you want a good espresso and something sweet alongside, you will find both here.
Are the baked goods vegan?
According to the manufacturer the croissants are — unusual for croissants, since classic croissant dough is made with butter. According to the manufacturers, the rest of the range contains milk or egg.
