Can I work on a laptop at Green Wall Coffee?

Only to a limited extent. Working on devices is not permitted in the front café area, where conversation comes first. There is a small separate room with six seats, and using it is not free.

Why no work happens at the front

The front area is for talking. Anyone who walks in should meet people in conversation — not a row of open screens. That is a deliberate decision, not a question of capacity: a café where everyone stares silently at displays is no longer a café.

The separate room

If you really do need to work, you can use the small back room: six seats at a shared table, with Wi-Fi. Using it is not free, and the rule is simple — for each half hour started you either consume a drink or pay a 1.50-euro seat charge. Two hours with two cappuccinos therefore cost three euros extra.

The room is there for when it is necessary, not as a reason to visit.

In practice at Green Wall Coffee

At our café at Sophienstraße 27 in Berlin-Lichtenberg the six seats fill up quickly, and there are no reservations. If you are planning a long working day, a proper coworking space will serve you better. If you are coming for a coffee and need to bridge half an hour between two appointments, this is the right place.
